The Territorial Election Commission
The Commission has seven members, appointed by the Governor with the consent of the Territorial Legislature. It keeps the voter registers, registers candidates and certifies the results of general elections.
Chairman
Daniyar Borubaev
Chairman since 2011. On the Commission staff since 1996; secretary of the Commission 1998–2010.
Functions
- keeping the voter registers
- verifying signatures and registering candidates
- forming the polling station commissions
- certifying and publishing the results
Observers
International observers are invited by the Government. The Government has stated that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe will be invited, as in previous elections. Observers and the representatives of candidates are accredited by the Commission from 1 June 2027.
